Renault Trafic All Keys Lost Replacement in Nottingham

Callum Robley |15th March, 2026

A Nottingham tradesman with a 2006 Renault Trafic work van and every key missing. Van off the road costs a self-employed tradesman a day's work - so the first callout of the morning went out to the van, picked the door, decoded the lock, and cut and programmed a fresh key on the driveway.

The call

Phone brief was about as simple as AKL gets: 2006 Renault Trafic, all keys lost, one replacement needed. No flat battery, no ignition faults, no previous-locksmith botch-ups to work around. Standard commercial-van AKL. Van went out with the NE73 Lishi, a blank, and the Autel IM608.

Commercial vans hurt harder than passenger cars when they go off the road. Every hour is a job booking, a missed delivery, or a customer slipping to a competitor. A Trafic AKL at the start of a weekday goes to the front of the route.

How we replaced the key

First step on arrival was access. The NE73 Lishi picked the driver's door open - tool in, wafers lifted, cylinder turned.

Inside, the same Lishi went onto the ignition to decode the bitting. Tool in, wafers read one at a time off the gauge, bitting written down.

Blade cut to the decoded bitting on the van.

Programming ran through the OBD port using the Autel IM608. The tool authenticated against the immobiliser, wiped any keys the van had learned before, and wrote the new transponder into the approved list. Remote paired to the central locking at the same time.

Outcome

A working key in the tradesman's hand. Every previous key wiped from the immobiliser. Van back on the road the same morning, no recovery truck, no second day of lost work.

Tradesman with a van off the road on lost keys? We come to you - Nottingham and the East Midlands, on-site AKL programming. First thing in the morning gets priority on the route. Year, make, and model on the phone and we'll load the van before setting off.
