Autelix supplies and installs electronic access control systems across Nottingham - keypad, fob, card reader and biometric. We handle the full access control installation from site survey and system design through to hardware installation, software configuration, user management setup and staff training. If your premises still run on physical keys, we replace that with digital credentials you can issue, time-limit and revoke instantly - without waiting for a locksmith or cutting a new key.
We fit a range of access control systems to suit different premises types, security requirements and budgets. Each type uses digital credentials rather than physical keys, so access can be managed centrally and changed without touching the hardware.
Keypad entry systems grant access via a PIN code. Codes can be changed at any time - useful when a code has been shared broadly, when a member of staff leaves, or at the end of a tenancy. No cylinder swap, no key collection.
Fob access control uses proximity readers. Each fob is enrolled individually to the system and can be revoked without affecting anyone else. Practical for premises with regular staff turnover or multiple access zones.
Card reader systems operate on the same proximity principle but use access cards rather than fobs. Cards can carry tiered permissions - a card that opens the main entrance but not the server room, for instance - and are easily deactivated and reissued.
Biometric access control authenticates entry by fingerprint. No credential to lose, share or forget. Suited to higher-security areas where you need a reliable record of who physically entered and when. Fingerprint data is stored locally on the reader, with no cloud dependency for day-to-day operation.
All four types can be used as standalone door entry systems or combined across a site. We advise on the right configuration during the survey.

Switching from physical keys to managed access control changes how a premises operates. The practical benefits go beyond eliminating lost keys.
Issue, time-limit and revoke credentials instantly. A new member of staff gets access on day one. A contractor gets a time-limited credential for the days they are on site. A fob goes missing - it is removed from the system in seconds. None of this requires calling a locksmith or changing a lock.
An audit trail of every entry. The system logs who entered, through which door, and when. For office managers, gym operators and HMO landlords, that is an operational record as much as a security one. You know whether the early morning cleaning team arrived, you know which door was used after hours, you know when the last person left.
No physical keys in circulation. Keys get copied, lost and unreturned. Digital credentials do not. When someone leaves a role or a tenancy ends, their access ends with it - no uncertainty about whether they had a copy cut.
Mobile and managed access. Many systems allow remote user management - adding and removing access rights from a web dashboard or mobile app without visiting the site. For multi-site operators and landlords managing several properties, that is a significant time saving.

Electronic access control is not limited to large commercial buildings. A well-specified system scales from a single door to a multi-zone site, and suits a wide range of premises.
Offices and commercial premises benefit from keyless entry at the main entrance, controlled access to sensitive areas such as server rooms or storage, and a clear record of who was on site and when. For broader security and locksmith work across a commercial site, see our commercial locksmith service.
Gyms and fitness studios need to manage member access, out-of-hours entry and staff shift changes. Fob or card systems handle all three without manual key handovers.
Co-working spaces have high credential turnover by design - members join, pause and leave regularly. Access control makes that manageable. Credentials are issued digitally and revoked when membership ends, with no rekeying required.
HMOs and managed residential premises benefit from controlled access at the main entrance, separate credentials per unit and the ability to change access between tenancies without a locksmith visit. For premises where a single smart door is all that is needed, our smart lock installation service may be the right fit. Where mechanical key control across a building is the priority, see our master key systems page.

We follow a consistent process from first contact to handover. No hardware goes on the wall before we understand the site.
Survey and system design. We visit the premises, assess the entry points and the access requirements, and design a system that fits. We look at door construction, frame condition, cable routes and any existing security hardware before specifying products.
Hardware installation. Readers, controllers, locks and any supporting cabling are fitted on-site by our team. We carry the tools and fixings the job needs - we do not subcontract the physical installation.
Software configuration. We set up the access control software, create the initial user accounts and configure the access permissions to match your requirements. That includes door zones, time schedules and any admin access levels.
User management setup. We enrol the initial credentials - fobs, cards or fingerprints - and set up any admin accounts your team will use to manage the system day to day.
Testing and commissioning. Every reader, every door, every credential is tested before we finish. Entry and exit functions, fail-safe and fail-secure settings, and any time-schedule rules are all confirmed working.
Staff training. We walk through the day-to-day management tasks with your team on site: adding and removing users, checking the entry log, adjusting schedules and handling a lost credential. Training is included in the installation, not an optional extra.
Maintenance and support. Systems need ongoing attention as teams change and requirements evolve. We are available for maintenance visits, system changes and fault diagnosis after installation.
