We supply and fit TS007 3-star anti-snap cylinders for uPVC and composite doors across Nottingham and the East Midlands. Lock snapping is the most common forced-entry method used against uPVC doors in the UK - a standard euro cylinder gives almost no resistance to it. Our kitemarked anti-snap cylinder upgrades are sized to your door on-site and fitted usually within an hour, meeting insurance requirements and protecting your home against non-destructive entry.
Lock snapping exploits a weakness in standard euro cylinders. The part of the cylinder that protrudes beyond the door handle - the exposed section on the outside face - can be snapped off with a cold chisel or mole grips in seconds. Once the outer half is gone, the remaining section turns freely without a key. A burglar can then open the door in under a minute, often without waking anyone inside.
It is the dominant forced-entry method on uPVC and composite doors across the UK. Because so many homes still have standard cylinders fitted at the time of manufacture, a large portion of Nottinghamshire properties carry this vulnerability right now.
The fix is straightforward: replace the standard cylinder with a snap-resistant one designed to sacrifice the outer section before the inner mechanism is reached. The attack stalls, the door stays shut, and the burglar moves on.

We fit kitemarked TS007 3-star cylinders - the recognised standard for anti-snap cylinder upgrades in the UK. A TS007 3-star rating covers anti-snap, anti-bump and anti-drill resistance in a single product. Where insurance policies or landlord requirements specify a BS3621 lock or TS007 3-star rating, these cylinders satisfy that requirement.
The cylinder is sized to your door on the day of the visit. Correct sizing matters: an over-long cylinder leaves an unnecessary amount of material exposed on the outside face, which itself creates a snapping risk. We measure the existing cylinder, source the right size from stock, and fit it flush with the door hardware.
Most cylinder upgrades are completed on-site usually within an hour from arrival. There is no need to send the cylinder away or wait for a back-order.

Anti-snap cylinders are available for the full range of uPVC doors and composite doors found across Nottingham homes - from standard single-point cylinders to multi-point locking systems. Both door types use a euro cylinder format, so the upgrade process is the same: remove the existing lock cylinder, fit the TS007 3-star replacement, confirm the key operates the mechanism cleanly, and check the door closes flush.
If you are unsure which cylinder size your door takes, we identify that on arrival. Where a door has a worn multi-point mechanism alongside a vulnerable cylinder, we can advise on a lock change at the same visit - it is worth addressing both if the mechanism is already showing wear. For damage to the existing lock or frame from a previous forced-entry attempt, our door lock repair service covers that work too.

If your uPVC or composite door still has a standard euro cylinder, a snap lock upgrade is a straightforward, cost-effective security improvement. We cover Nottingham city, Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands area. Get in touch to book a cylinder upgrade or ask about sizing for your door.
For emergency situations - a door that will not lock following a forced-entry attempt - we are available around the clock. See our emergency locksmith service for urgent call-outs.
